Sigma Alpha Iota Christmas Program – A Cool Yule Christmas Cabaret

The Hot Springs Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota will bring holiday cheer with  “A Cool Yule Christmas Cabaret” musical program and heavy hors-d’oeuvres offering on Tuesday,  December 6^th at The Vapors Live.  “We’d love our ticket holders to dress up in their most captivating outfits which reflect the Hollywood glamour of the 50s and 60s,” a statement said.   The program will highlight Christmas songs sung by Cantate, the SAI women’s ensemble. There will be a variety of Christmas music including favorites from Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” and “On the Avenue”.  The event has become an annual favorite with many in the Hot Springs community. “We rely on this annual fundraiser to raise money to give to community music organizations and music students.   Like many groups, Covid-19 shuttered our usual community events. We are so happy to be back to showcase our wonderful SAI women’s ensemble, directed by Kathie White.   The Vapors is a fun and historic venue which will be the perfect setting for these songs,” states Gay Strakshus, president of the alumnae chapter.  Joining the musical forces of Cantate will be the SAI Strings ensemble, members of the Hot Springs Flute Ensemble, and the Spa City Tappers.
